Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity announced today that longtime volunteer and past board president Christine Luciano has been appointed interim executive director. The organization is currently conducting a search for a permanent executive director to continue leading its mission of building homes, communities, and hope in Brunswick County.
Luciano, who resides in Bolivia, brings extensive experience and deep familiarity with the affiliate’s work. She has been an active member of the Brunswick County Habitat family for years, currently serving on the family selection committee and previously as board president.
“We are grateful for Christine’s leadership and her continued commitment to this organization and community,” said Toni Whitaker, Board President of Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity. “Her deep understanding of our mission and her history of service make her uniquely qualified to guide us through this transition. The board is excited for the future of our organization and confident in the strength of our team moving forward.”
Luciano said she is honored to serve during this period of transition. “Habitat for Humanity’s work has always held a special place in my heart,” Luciano said. “I’m proud to support this organization and the families we serve as we continue to build safe, affordable homes across Brunswick County.”
The board of directors has begun the process of searching for a permanent executive director, with additional details to be shared in the coming weeks.
